Porter Place is a cozy, family-friendly lake house tucked into the quiet Sugar Creek area of Lake of Egypt. With a nostalgic “grandma’s lake house” charm, this spacious home is perfect for large families and multi-generation trips. It sleeps up to 11 with three queen bedrooms and a bunk room that kids will love. Enjoy two full kitchens, two living rooms, a covered porch overlooking the lake, and a private U-shaped dock with clean, deep water for swimming, kayaking, and fishing. Three kayaks and a canoe are included for your stay.

Note: The home sits on a steep hill and offers a classic (not newly updated) interior—ideal for active families and value-focused travelers who want affordable lakefront access.

What to Know Before You Book: 

Check-in is after 3 PM. Check-out is before 10 AM.
Rental agreement is required with ID verification.
Pet Policy: Absolutely no pets.  Pets are not allowed at this property. If guest are caught with a pet, guests may be subject to an immediate cancellation without refund. If evidence is found after your stay, there will be a $150 penalty for rule violation.
Inventory: We provide a "starter package" of inventory for our cabin: 3 rolls of T.P. and 1 full roll of paper towels.
The garage is not accessible. Max 4 vehicles in driveway. Additional parking is available 5 minutes away for overflow vehicles and boat trailers.
